AzureIn the mid-nineteenth century, the Belgian royal family acquired 4500 ha of land in Retie, Kasterlee, Geel and Oud-Turnhout. A smart investment with a social touch: hundreds of penniless Kempen farmers were able to work there. Today, the beautiful ponds, atmospheric hiking trails and impressive trees of the Prinsenpark remind us of this regal past. Furthermore, this Prinsenroute serves a generous portion of nature, fascinating heritage and atmospheric Kempen spots.
