This route should strongly overlap with a road that is more than 2000 years old (according to the Regional Circle of Antiquities South Pajottenland).
This road, which largely follows the ridge between the Dender and Zenne basins at a height of 70-90 m, is said to be very old. The road would coincide with an ancient sheep path of the Nervii, an old herd road that is over two thousand years old. It would have run via Anderlecht over the Zenne, through Dilbeek and Schepdaal, past the bunker house of writer Maurits Roelants, the former mill Tomberg (Lennik), crosses the 'Devil's Road' or the highway Bavai-Asse and climbs over Tenhelleken ('t Nelleken), towards O.-L.-Vrouw-Lombeek. Beyond this village, the road leads along the Dender valley to the Oudeberg of Geraardsbergen.
