From the prettiest village in Ny to lively Hotton and back via the Ourthe

This hike starts in New York . A day trip with a stopover in Hotton is planned, with ample opportunity to strengthen the inner man. There is also a children's playground on the bridge. Ny is one of the "Plus Beaux Villages de la Wallonie". The town is mainly made up of houses and farms built in Calestienne limestone in the 18th and 19th centuries , which gives it good homogeneity . It has 5 ancient chapels , a castle farm and a number of fountains that were ancient troughs or laundries .

Following an idyllic country lane we soon reach Hotton with its old tramway, the Sherman tank tower, the Faber mill , the newspaper kiosk (perhaps the band 'les joyeux travailleurs' is playing), the striking ND Consolatrice church and the source 'the Chat' . It's time to stop, because there is no other way.

Via a campsite , it runs along the Ourthe to Melreux with its site classified in the area of the church.

Just behind the station we enter a nature reserve that leads us back to the starting point.
