Take your bike and be surprised by the varied environment that the Waasland has to offer. With the Wase winding cycle route you start in Daknam, the smallest village in the region and immediately one where Reynaert de Vos pulled out his cunning tricks. Or at least according to the legend that the Reynaert benches, statues and café names keep alive here to this day.

The Daknamse Meersen and the Fondatie van Boudelo, one of the last quiet areas in East Flanders, provide the portion of peace and quiet on your ride. An eight-metre-high observation tower offers views of the surrounding greenery. If you come here early in the morning, you have a chance to see wandering deer calves. Certainly also worth a stop: the church and the cave Our Lady of the cyclists, where hundreds of jerseys of cycling heroes hang to show off.
