Blankaart hiking trail

Traditionally, the wetland of the Blankaart attracts large concentrations of waterfowl. The low-lying meadows and hay meadows form the background against which the walking route is located. You will start at the Blankaart Castle and walk through a series of meadows that are part of the De Blankaart nature reserve. Then you step for a long time through the "winter bed of the Yser" to the water reservoir of De Blankaart. On the way back you walk through the De Rhille district and past the BLOSO center of the same name.

Fact: The Blankaart is a nature reserve south of the IJzerbroeken. They are mainly marshy meadows and hay meadows along the Yser.
Attention: In the winter months, the walking route is often difficult to access due to the marshy surface.

This walking route is integrated as a suggestion loop in the walking network map De Blankaart. There will no longer be a separate leaflet with a map of the walking route, but the signage will be retained
