Sainte-Cécile

The Semois disappears definitively in the Ardennes forests downstream of Sainte-Cécile. It has carved out a deep valley and adorned itself with miniature rocky islands. The river views are truly stunning, especially in spring and autumn. What can you expect? The most beautiful nature !!

About 10 km.

TYPE OF ROAD
Your shoes walk on asphalt in and around the village. Then a cocktail of country roads with base surface, dirt forest roads and with base surface, forest paths, a stretch of paved road and a bitumined communication route (not in that order). Anyway: a route inaccessible to strollers and wheelchairs.

MARKUP
The first half is a local walking trail, marked with black stars (sometimes difficult to discern on the trees and anyway no longer maintained), which largely follows the white-red lines of the Ardennes-Eifel Hiking trail. Further there is no more marking, but you return to Sainte-Cécile following the Grandes Randonnée trail. The description refers to the road indications when they are useful.

PARKING
In the vicinity of the church of 1922, which has a remarkably solid tower. Inside you can admire beautiful statues: a Saint-Donatien of the eighteenth century in polychrome oak, two statues of Christ and a Gothic Saint Vièrge with Child in polychrome stone (fourteenth century).
