This route leads through agricultural areas that have long been part of the hop-growing region around Poperinge. The landscape is slightly hilly and the hiking path uses church paths, grassy trails, and rural roads. The route offers a beautiful variety in the landscape and passes through different forests (Sint-Sixtusbos, Dozinghembos and near the Canadabos), hop fields, arable lands, and meadows. A British military cemetery serves as a reminder of World War I.
A visit to the cloister of the Sint-Sixtus Abbey should not be missed. Afterwards, you can enjoy a delicious Westvleteren Trappist beer at In de Vrede.
At Ateljee 5, you can try a delicious ice cream sundae made with Trappist beer. On nice days, you can relax in one of the hammocks.
