Meix-devant-Virton

The Romans were in a country of acquaintance in the south of the province of Luxembourg. Arlon, at the time called Orolaunumvicus, was already an important center on the Roman road between Reims and Trier. The part of this route between Chameleux and Virton passes through Meix-devant-Virton. The route is still partially visible today.

TYPE OF ROAD
You follow a mix of paved forest and country roads with base surface. The paths with base lining are sandy, so the rain sinks quickly. Little danger of walking in the mud. Comfortable shoes are enough, but they must be waterproof when it has rained. The route is inaccessible to strollers and wheelchairs.

The route is almost entirely marked with yellow rectangles lying down.

PARKING
In front of the church located higher than the village, there are, under the headless lime trees, many places to store the car. The square offers you a picturesque view of part of the village.
