All the magic of this circuit lies in the blend of vast rolling countryside, large farms, and other historical buildings with more intimate corners like the wonderful Orne*** path. This route passes near three old quartzite quarries, Les Molignats**, Les Montagnes, and Les Trois Fontaines*. Quartzite is a hard rock that was exploited, notably for making building stones and paving. However, their industrial exploitation seems to have lasted only a few years between 1860 and 1885. The Moulin d'Al Poudre*** estate combines a very beautiful English garden*** traversed by the Orne*** with a beautiful architectural ensemble*** from several different eras, the mill probably dating back before the 17th century. The route also passes by Mont Pénuel* and the Tour des Sarassins** (or Tour d'Alvau) which dates back to the 11th century. As you climb the Champ de Genister***, the view to the west over the Val d'Alvaux is magnificent. In Rue des Trois Fontaines, you can see to the left the water body of the old quarry. This water body, 18 meters deep, is used by divers from the Timberdiving club. On the other side of the path is the villa Les Trois Fontaines which offers guest rooms.
