Around Herberin

From the pond of Ellemelle, you walk through fields towards the beautiful Bois de l’Herberin, and further to Tinlot and the village of Warzée. After that, the walk winds its way through a succession of meadows to Lizin. This old lordship is an interesting hamlet with a keep from the thirteenth century and two large estates: the Maison Forte and La Ferme des Sarrasins. Ellemelle, a parish mentioned as early as 1005, is a small village known for its typical architectural heritage of sandstone buildings. Large farms from the seventeenth century testify to a grand agricultural past that is still prominent today. On a hill in the village center, the eighteenth-century church overlooks the inhabitants. Adjacent is a beautiful walled cemetery, and there are a number of older buildings here, some of which are beautifully renovated. Passable road, 90% secured. Ideal for a walk with the whole family.
