Take the stairs at the foot of the impressive chapter church of Saint Ursmer, the oldest of the still active churches in the country. Walk through the portico to discover the streets of the medieval town on your way to the religious building. Open the gate. The light and simplicity contrast with the small crypt. Back outside, you can wander around in the medieval garden next to the Romanesque tower. The walk continues through forests and fields to the Sambre. At the end of the walk, you can admire the special Baroque details of the Portelette, and you pass by the farm of the abbey that was founded in 654 by Saint Landelinus.
