The environment in the Chimay region has been extraordinarily well preserved. The walk of the "crayas" takes you back to the past of the principality. Imagine this place in 1560 as a place of relaxation with a pond that was drained in 1891 and filled again in 1921. You can pause for a moment at the chapel of mercy before continuing to the hamlet "le Gibet" where the gallows stood for the execution of those found guilty. The descent via the agricultural path brings you close to the stream Bardompré where "crayas" could be found along the banks, remnants of iron ore extraction that was found throughout the region.
