Saint-Hubert – Abandoned roads

This walk lets you penetrate the soul of the great green. The forest of Saint-Hubert is a hymn to unspoiled life. Beyond the ‘Fagne de la Doneuse’ begins a lush valley where a brook seeks its way. The descent into the valley is long but is musically accompanied by the bubbling of the brook flowing from the rocks. Along the way, you walk past a birch forest, the ‘Boulaie du Rouge Poncé,’ a nature reserve that showcases a type of forest that once covered the entire Ardennes, before the area was drained for the production and exploitation of coniferous trees. A little further, the observatory of la Bilaude allows, with a bit of luck, the observation of the forest fauna.
