To Bouillon, one always returns… When leaving the ancient city, the Pont de la Poulie reflects in the pure waters of the Semois. With its stone arches, the bridge provides a beautiful foreground for the Castle of Bouillon. The castle, which was remodeled and adapted by successive rulers up to the 19th century, remained famous for the hero of the First Crusade, Godfrey of Bouillon…
After crossing the Pont de la Poulie, the path immediately climbs to the right: we will follow the Semois that flows below us, carrying long strands of emerald green algae. The path leads us to the abbey of Cordemois. A smaller road follows, and then a protruding path. At the height of the lonely old mill, the Moulin de l’Epine, we return to the authentic and silver-colored Semois. We leave the river and climb along a mule path to the viewpoint of l’Epine and then to the fantastic belvedere that shows us Bouillon from a bird's eye view. After that comes a dizzying descent to the city of Godfrey.
