The stroll along the forest edge

This paved 1 km route can be combined with a visit to the Escale forectière (for a fee: indoor and outdoor play areas themed around the forest). Start from the parking lot and venture into the forest where a wooden observation platform awaits you, and where you can pause on one of the three benches, while enjoying the tranquility of the woods. Furthermore, the Escale forectière invites you to explore the nature that lives in the forest in covered spaces. Then, a 15-minute film takes you to the core of the nature park Plaines de l'Escaut. The sensory field in the open air invites you to play, and to take off your shoes to enjoy the 150-meter long Barefoot Path. The visit ends with a 50m wide walkway, taking you 16 feet high through the foliage. Moreover, you will find information about hikes, the missions of the nature park, and delicious regional products at the reception!
