At the beginning of the 20th century, a new residential neighborhood sees the light, where mainly the bourgeoisie comes to live, emerging from the thriving iron, glass, and coal industries. This bourgeoisie wants to live comfortably and showcase their new status by building luxurious homes as a sign of their new success. Thus, the Art Nouveau found fertile ground for its development and left its marks on the urban architecture.
