Path of earth and Sambre

Just a stone's throw from the French border, you can enjoy this gem of the Haute Sambre, offering beautiful landscapes, the rivers Hantes and Thure, forests, and remarkable monuments. The St. George's Church is a semi-classical structure with a Romanesque choir from the 12th century. You will find some beautiful details such as the coats of arms of Bonne-Espérance, a stone with the year 1716 on it, an oak statue of Christ, and more. The military cemetery of Erquelinnes has a large honor field for the fallen soldiers of World War I, including the graves of 66 English, 4 French, and 11 German soldiers. At the end of the route, you follow the Sambre; just before the border, you will see a small harbor emerging.
