From the Grote Markt of Chimay, you head to the beautiful nature reserve of Lake Virelles and to Lompret, which is on the list of the Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia. From that point, the Great Crossing is characterized by small roads and paths that wind through a very hilly landscape with many trees. Gradually, you leave the province of Hainaut behind and move towards Namur, where you can discover the Calestienne (also known as the Limestone Strip) in the region of Couvin and Viroinval. These typical landscapes have been shaped by geological phenomena such as caves, cliffs, hills, etc. Finally, you reach the village of Nismes, a tourist village with many attractions. On this route, there are two bivouac zones: bivouac site "Bois de Blaimont" and bivouac site "Boussu-en-Fagne."
