Chimay can unveil a beautiful RAVeL that completely crosses the city. This former railway line was created at the behest of the Count of Chimay, who wanted to bring his region out of isolation and establish a quick connection to Brussels. Follow this route that runs through the beautiful forest of Chimay and ends up in the Thiérache, a cross-border region. In Momignies, you leave the RAVeL to venture into unfamiliar territory. The route resembles the quiet country roads of rural France that stretch a ribbon of asphalt through the rolling landscape. The discovery continues: at every bend, you are presented with a new panorama or a grand landscape. And then back to Momignies where a friendly ‘bistrot de terroir’ awaits you. The tavern is located at the roundabout, at the level of junction 58. From the village, you return to Chimay via Villers-la-Tour, which showcases the typical elements of the hamlets from the region. Long farmhouses and beautiful wooden barn doors are elements that contribute to the charm of this journey that seems to take place in a different time.
