This route starts in the forests of the hamlet Le Grand Tienne. It runs past the ruins of the medieval castle Fagnolle, which was built from limestone from the region la Calestienne. This medieval fortress was established at the end of the 12th century on a motte and is one of the rare examples of a lowland castle in the region. On the hills of the village, the route continues towards Matagne-la-Grande and Matagne-la-Petite, where the vast fields and forests offer you stunning views. Next, you will discover the chapel of Saint-Hilaire, built around the 11th century. The return to Fagnolle is made exclusively along the former railway line.
