From Charleroi, the industrial areas along the Samber RAVeL quickly make way for rural areas. The walk is now characterized by a series of picturesque locks, which are tailored to the dimensions of the old inland vessels that were once built at various shipyards in the region. Discover the history of the ruins of Aulne Abbey and visit the terrace to sample an abbey beer. The omnipresence of pleasure boats shows that Thuin has been an important place for inland navigation and still is today. Don't miss the hanging gardens and the belfry, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and enjoy an exceptional view over the valleys of the Samber and Biesmelle.
