Along cliffs and rivers in the valley of the Warche

This walk starts at the dam of Robertville. Soon, an enclosed landscape unfolds, with the Reinhardstein Castle as its silent centerpiece. The building sits high on a rock, like an eagle's nest above the valley. We walk around it via steep paths that climb up along the slope.

The path continues to rise until we reach the "Nose of Napoleon," a rocky point that juts out above the forest. From here, we look out over the Warche valley, where the river carves its way between wooded slopes. From this point, the path begins to wind, as if it is adapting to the folds of the landscape.

After a short break, we descend via a steep path that leads us back to the Warche. The valley narrows, and the river flows faster. The path follows the banks, sometimes close to the water, then higher up. Eventually, we climb again, and get another glimpse of the castle, which hides among the trees.
