ZennegatWater Short Trail (20Mi; 32,2km)

This short trail of 32.2km is a shortened version of the ZennegatWater MarathonTrail.
It goes along mainly unpaved paths along streams, ponds, Zenne, Dijle, Rupel and Leuvensevaart; everything near the Sennegat. Most of the ponds were created by menadrin discounts or by hitoric floods (due to the confluence of Senne, Dyle and a little further on the Nete, this area has been subject to frequent flooding, with the associated marshlands and trousers forming the natural environment of it).
Due to the construction of the E19 and the railway line to Antwerp, new ponds were dug out or older ones deepened.

South of the Zennegat, between the canal and the Dijle, a new flood zone has been created very recently (Sigmaplan). The afsluitdijk is not yet finished, but this loop is already over this new dike, which results in a beautiful kicking game over the enclosed pants.
