The round of the blossom bars: from Bar blossom to Open Vineyard

The intention is to visit a number of beautiful blossom bars during the flowering period in the fruit region. These are located in picturesque places and are ideal as a stopping point.

Start in Sint-Huibrechts-Hern between junctions 119 and 130. The starting point was chosen here because when we return we plan to make the last stop a short distance from here to end the day : Bar bloom located between junctions 122 and 123 in Schalkhoven.

The tour first takes us to the mill of Overrepen and further to the castle of Gors . Here you can book a day tour at Terroir wine safari that guides you past 5 winemakers. This brings us to an old railway bed that takes us to the F:ruit experience center Stroopfabriek in Borgloon.

Continue to junction 161, where we drive to the floating chapel of Helshoven at junction 169 and then return to the Roman Cobblestone. We pass Loungebar Helshoven on the wine estate of the same name, an option for a stopover.

Near junction 161 we pass the Tjenneboom at the highest point in the area.

You need to be careful between junctions 151 and 155: to visit the see-through church 'Reading between the lines' we have to deviate from the route to the left. A little further away is our first stop: Bar Vue in the middle of the fields between the fruit trees. After this refreshing stop we return to junction 155.

Another option is to continue from Bar Vue to the also beautifully located pop-up bar Open Wijngaard along the walking path between the center of Borgloon (behind the church) and the parking along the Sint-Truidersteenweg. Unfortunately, this place is also not located along the junctions...

We drive on to the Ambiorix city of Tongeren where a short circular walk is recommended.

From Tongeren we head north. Before driving under the tunnel towards junction 109, you can turn left (Sint-Annastraat) to a chapel that was built in 1653 and dedicated to St. Anna. A little further on we pass the Lindekapel and Hoeselt.

Via junctions 519 and 123 we drive to our last stop , Bar bloom , located between junctions 123 and 122 in Schalkhoven.

After this last refreshment we can return to the starting point via junctions 123 and 119 or turn directly to Sint-Huibrechts-Hern.
