Walk along the same quiet roads as the young Jozef De Veuster—Father Damien—through the valleys of the Dijle and the Grote Laak. His birthplace is a modern visitor center where you can learn all about the life of our Greatest Belgian. You’ll pass by the Church of Our Lady in Tremelo, where he was baptized, and follow the route to Werchter, where he attended school. Along the Dijle, you’ll enjoy beautiful, sweeping views, and in the Laak Valley, you’ll discover a lovely stretch of nature.
