The little white tower stands out, which is why the building is known as ’t Wit Toreke. This was once the site of the manor of the Lords of Meynaertshoven. This is where your hike begins, following the old Aarschot-Herentals railroad right-of-way to the Meertels nature reserve, which consists of forests, meadows, and wetlands. You can take a quick break along the way at the “Grotteke van Meetshoven,” a collection of small chapels with theater-style seating.
