You don’t have to walk very far—you’ll get plenty of exercise anyway. That’s because this route takes you right through the play area of Averbode Bos en Heide on the Weefberg. You’ll find plenty of “Multimove” play structures there, and you can build camps to your heart’s content. Afterward, take a short walk to Abdijstraat, at the entrance gate to Averbode Abbey. Locals know this spot as the Lekdreef because of the ice cream vendors who wait here for hikers when the weather is nice.
