Was it the landscape of his hometown, Merchtem, that inspired composer August De Boeck (1865–1937) to create his elegant, sometimes dreamy melodies? After all, he was a master of music and a beloved figure in the village. This walk takes you past buildings and places that played a role in his life. A must-see: the August De Boeck Museum, located in the former home of the village’s head teacher.
