Laak and Nether route

Fed by the water of the Laak, the Great Nete sets out in search of its final destination.
Before that, the river meanders for a while through the province of Antwerp, contributing to the formation of the landscape we know today for centuries. The Nete and its tributaries ensure that the surrounding landscape has a fairly green character, despite human activities. Many meadows, but also numerous forests lie along the route that you can cross today on two wheels.
The best way to enjoy this landscape is the cycling path that runs along the former railway embankment Herentals-Aarschot. The highlight of the route is the intersection with the Great Nete. Even on the green edge of Westerlo, the water of the Great Nete creates beautiful landscapes. There is much greenery near the Hertberg estate. This can be best admired during your ride along the Veerlepad.

MOVEMENT METHOD
Hexagonal signs with green letters. The tour described here is a shortened version of the actual Laak and Nete Route of 53 km.

SAFETY
Relatively safe route with numerous cycling paths.

Mostly paved roads. 30% traffic-free.
