Description by the author

With this walk we do the entire wall of Huy with all its chapels, but in the opposite direction. This makes the slope accessible to everyone.

There is a small free parking lot at the Eglise Saint-Rémy .

We go along the river Hoyoux via the Eglise Saint-Mort where we do not take the steep stairs but continue looking for Ri Mathot, a small stream that we follow upstream. The slope is long but never too steep. At le Sart we are about 150 meters higher.

We stay on the plateau for a while and arrive at the Eglise Notre-Dame de La Sarte where the adoration of Mary began, the reason why the chapel wall was built. Mosan family park is also located here and it is also the end station of the cable car that takes you here from all the way on the other bank of the Maas via the Fort.

We now descend the wall of Huy . This has been made car-free so that we can quietly visit the 6 chapels . The monument of "Claudy Criquelion" commemorates his heroic attack on the Flèche Wallonne , which has been arriving here for several years now.

Below the wall, on the imposing "Pythalor Cursoriam Murus" bicycle, we dive into the city center where we visit the 2 of the 4 remaining wonders of the city .

Past the miners' monastery and some old alleys we pass the Eglise Saint-Mengold on the main market place with the town hall with an impressive facade. Here is the medieval fountain "Li Bassinia ", one of the wonders of the city. Continue to the banks of the Meuse with the King Baudouin Bridge which replaces the former medieval bridge and second wonder of the city, "Li Pontia" .

We go around the Collegiate Notre-Dame . Inside are the stained glass windows, the treasury, but most importantly the stained glass window "Li Rondia", the third wonder of the city , is worth seeing. We return to the start past the Bethléem portal , one of the most beautiful in Wallonia. Above us we see the Fort of Huy , built on the site of the fourth wonder of the city: the castle " Li Tchestia".

Be sure to consult the information about the sights once you are there . They explain what you will see!
