Zwind Dunes and Polders

You undoubtedly know the Zwin. However, have you heard about the adjacent Zwin groves? They are certainly equally valuable and have been known since 2003 as Flemish Nature Reserve De Zwinduinen and –polders. They form a 222-hectare natural transition between sea, beach, and polder. You can enjoy walking, cycling, and horseback riding there. For the blind, there is a proper blind path.

Less Mobile Path
The Zen Path starts at the Zwin Nature Center. You can further extend this with the Yourcenar Path. Both paths are intended for less mobile individuals.

Blind Path
There is a blind path through the Zwinduinen and polders. This path begins at the entrance on Bronlaan.

Interactive Walk
There are 2 interactive (routeyou) walks: one along paved paths of 6.25 km and a "more adventurous" walk of 7.5 km.

Walking Paths
There are 4 marked walking paths: Groenpleinpad, Wiedauwpad, Dijkpad, and Keunepad.

Walking Nodes
In this area, you will find the following walking nodes (Coast): 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16.

Zwin Walking Route
The Zwin walking route of 12 km introduces you to the great diversity of natural values and landscapes in Knokke-Heist.

Green Stop + Walk
This Green Stop + walk is 5.5 km long. The starting point is bus stop "Knokke Oosthoekplein." The endpoint is bus stop "Knokke Lekkerbek."

Cycling Nodes
The Zwinduinen and polders are located at nodes 4, 18, 64, and 86 (Coast).

Riding Paths
Around and through the Zwinduinen, you will find a riding path.

Birdwatching
In the Zwinduinen, you will find 2 lookout points.

Zwin Nature Park
The Zwin Nature Park is 2.5 km from the entrance of the Zwinduinen.

Oosthoekplein
At Oosthoekplein, there are various drinking and eating establishments.

Ice Skating
When the ice is thick enough, skating can take place here.
