Explore the village of Neerijse

Start and end at the parking lot Donkerstraat 1, 3040 Neerijse, Belgium. This is also close to a bus stop "Neerijse Stwg. to Leefdaal" on line 70 (formerly 395) from Leuven station to Groenendaal station with connections to Overijse.

We explore on foot through the village of Neerijse with beautiful views of the Dijle valley as well as the most important historical buildings from various flourishing periods of the village: the two Romanesque towers, much heritage from the Austrian Netherlands, from the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. There were two breweries with a café/staminee on each corner, a dairy, and a hotel with a fish and swimming pond. Fortunately, we also have restaurants to enjoy a nice meal or drink after the walk. Neerijse will surprise you.

An extension with a walk in the Doode Bemde is possible but often very marshy.
