We travel back and forth between Walloon and Flemish Brabant through sunken paths, fields and forests.

Deep sunken paths are characteristic of this Brabant landscape, in which the combination of subsoil and relief plays a role. It will be a line walk with start and finish on the Leuven-Ottignies railway line. From the Florival stop you zigzag along narrow paths, country lanes and beautiful sunken paths to the Meerdaal Forest. In Nethen, you walk along the wall of Savenel Castle. Through the beautiful Meerdaal forest, with a number of sunken paths, you walk to the Sint-Joris-Weert train station. You may remember the Meerdaalwoud as a camp for youth movements in and around the youth centre De Kluis, near Sint-Joris-Weert. There are hardly any buildings to see along the route. Just a word of advice: sturdy, waterproof shoes are highly recommended, especially after long periods of rain.

• Gare Florival - 116 Rue Léopold Vanmeerbeek Florival (Grez-Doiceau) train from Leuven to Ottignies.
• If you come by car, park at St.Joris-Weert station and take the train to the starting point in Florival.
• Of course, the opposite is also possible: through a tunnel under the tracks, you reach track 1, where the walk begins.
