On the bike with Emile

The tourist offices of Deinze and Waregem have developed a new cycling route in collaboration with mudel and Zeventiendorpen that consists of 3 loops.

Start this route in Sint-Eloois-Vijve, near his birthplace Gildhuis, and pedal 34km through the Leie landscape via Machelen and Waregem. Discover the many locations where Emile Claus found color and light for his sunny paintings, landscapes, and portraits. Follow the GPS and start wherever you like!

85% of the route follows the junction network. Occasionally, an alternative route is chosen to pass closer to the POIs.

NOTE: These alternative routes are not signposted on-site!

You can also choose a loop starting in Deinze (33km) or go for the full distance to Deinze and back (64km)!
