A walk along the canals and polders of Zeeland, West Flanders, and East Flanders from Sluis to Maldegem. Nature, waterways, fields, and canals alternate smoothly.
On this journey, there is also often time to learn about the history of the region. Since 1340! there have been battles in Sluis for its strategic location. Take your time to look around and read the information panels along your route.
The walk can be done using public transport between the two points. When planning your trip, be sure to check the public transport planners as they often have the habit of making sudden changes, especially in Belgium.
The walk is part of my own round of Flanders. This was combined with "Along the North Sea, the Zwin, and its polders to Sluis" with an overnight stay in Sluis.
Walked on 27/07/24
