The beautiful panoramas of Chateau de Walzin and Aiguilles de Chaleux along the GR and the Lesse

The panoramas of the beautifully situated castle of Walzin and the meander of the Lesse from the Aiguilles de Chaleu x are the highlights of the walk, but the banks of the Lesse with its rock formations also form a beautiful backdrop. The climbing is limited to the final climb from the Lesse to Furfooz.

A pleasant walk according to the proven formula: just past the halfway point there is a wonderful stopover in Gendron-Gare, which can of course also serve as a starting point because it is accessible by public transport.

Start at the church of Furfooz - but there is a spacious car park further on at the cemetery along the route de Vêves.

We walk to the " Panorama des Aiguilles de Chaleux" and continue to the rocky outcrop. After returning we follow a path and the access road to Walzin Castle. Along the Passerelle de Walzin we reach the other side of the Lesse where a stunning panorama of the castle of Walzin awaits us.

We follow the GR126 along the banks of the Lesse, which we cross twice via a railway bridge. At the Plage de Chaleux we get a view of the rocks of the Cirque de Chaleux , on top of which we were just standing. Continue along the Chapelle-Saint-Nicolas to the railway bridge where we leave the GR and continue to follow the banks of the Lesse until Gendron-Gare .

Gendron-Gare is a starting or stopping point for many kayakers. Here , O bord de la Lesse and Auberge de la Lesse are ideal stops to refuel before starting the last part of the walk.

We are now back on the GR17/126. We now arrive at the Reserve naturelle de Furfooz, with a little further the paying geological and archaeological Parc de Furfooz. We pass (or stop?) La Flobette, a pleasant terrace in the middle of nature for the many kayakers and hikers.

After the next bend of the Lesse we leave the GR to start the climb to the starting point in Furfooz.
