This variant is the same length as the original. The only difference is that on the return between Lesse and Our, the GR is not followed, but the banks of the Our.
The Our flows in a picturesque valley between Our and its mouth in the Lesse. We walk this valley in both directions.
Our itself has been declared one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia. Redu is the picturesque book village with a number of catering establishments.
The walk is signposted by following successive sections of walks . The designation is included in the description below.
So start in Our, at the picturesque Saint-Laurent church. We follow the Our downstream and follow the walk with the green cross (PA06, A la Pichelotte), also the yellow mountain bike route . We cross a bridge over the Our and pass Les Terrasses de l'Our.
At the Rau de la Planchette we leave the walk and MTB route (after 2 km) but continue to follow the Our over the Rau de la Planchette, which flows into the Our here. We now arrive at walk 2 of Daverdisse, indicated by the green block.
We now walk in a very beautiful valley to a wooden bridge (5 km). Here the GR129 (red/white) joins us, which we follow. A little further we arrive at the mouth of the Our in the Lesse. A little further on is the Pont des cochonelles where we cross the Lesse and leave the GR.
Over the bridge we no longer follow the banks of the Lesse but we start the climb to La Roche Aux Chevaux , walk 4 from Lesse, indicated by the red square (and also blue mountain bike route ) . We stay on a plateau for a while to continue uphill (km 7) to join the 'Virée des croix' walk , indicated by the blue block , which we follow until Redu.
We pass the impressive satellite dishes of the ESA.
There is not much time to visit the Atelier for handmade paper or the Mudia Museum in Redu ...
We continue to follow the walk with the blue block and turn back into nature at the crossroads on the Rue de Transinne to begin the descent to the Lesse where the GR14 (red/white) connects. We continue to follow the GR to a romantic picnic spot on the Lesse.
From here we follow the Les Chaftés-Louis walk, indicated by the orange block, the Lesse downstream. We cross the Passerelle de Chafté-Louis and thus arrive at the banks of the Our at its mouth. A little further on the walk deviates from the bank and after a climb we arrive at the GR14 (red/white), which we follow descending to the right to the starting point. Along the Rau de Roli we arrive again at the banks of the Our, which we first follow in a meandering manner. A final final climb brings us back to Our.
Be sure to consult the information about the sights once you are there . They explain what you will see!
