Club ride: Birthday ride of Classic Vespa Club Hasselt - June 23, 2024

Today, some members of Vespa Club Tessenderlo went out to participate in the birthday ride of Classics Vespa Club.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed at the Kolonel Dusartplein by the board and its members, as we are accustomed to with Limburg kindness.

After registering and with the sun shining brightly, we settled down at the local hospitality places to quench our thirst. After all, we had already logged a short ride of 35 kilometers. The route that our ride master Marco Ceustermans had made for this day can be found here.

Okay, we proceeded to the parking lot where we had safely left our Vespas. 24 members and 4 road captains formed a well-prepared line for departure.

We left the square in a safe manner where the marshals kept the street clear of traffic so that we could ride onto the street with the whole group.

From there, we quickly rode through the city towards the Albertkanaal, which is always nice to ride next to the water with our Vespas. It really gives you a sense of space and freshness.

After a while, we crossed the canal and rode along the Borggravenvijvers next to the Provincial Domain of Borkrijk. We approached Zonhoven via the Bokrijkseweg and cycled again into the greener areas.

About 23 kilometers from the start, we crossed the canal again and rode along the Albertkanaal down to Stokrooie. From there, we passed the Tuiltermolen, which we saw on our left side; here is also the Flemish Nature Reserve Herkenrode.

The ideal place to stop and have something to drink, enjoying the Abdij Van Herkenrode. It is simply the perfect location in sunny weather!

After a short break and a pleasant chat, we continued our journey via Kermt, Stevoort, towards Alken through the most beautiful roads and surroundings. Through the nature reserve Grote Beemd, we passed Wimmertingen where the Castle Park can be found. Winding through the most beautiful roads, we continued to Park Baron Joly to dive back into the center of Hasselt to complete the loop.

Upon arrival, we took plenty of time to recover from the surprisingly beautiful ride that the Classic Vespa Club of Hasselt organized for us. A very successful ride that has given us more than enough satisfaction. This way we also set off for the ride back to our clubhouse Black & White in Tessenderlo
