Limburg is a patchwork of unique landscapes, and this route bridges the Maas Valley and the Hoge Kempen National Park. You start at the old Meander in Stokkem and cycle via Dilsen towards the Coal Trail. Like a train, it heads towards Station As, a pleasant stop on the route where there is much to discover.

Then you cycle towards 'Cycling between the Mining Spoils', where a unique floating bike bridge takes you from the twin spoil to the panoramic spoil, right across the gravel pond. After passing through the mining site and cité of Eisden, you once again seek the winter dike of the Maas in Vucht. The natural landscape of the River Park Maas Valley, with its typical fauna and flora, is enticingly inviting. We follow the Maas downstream back to the starting point, but first we pass by Leut and the castle domain of this Maas village.

Final tip: Upon arrival at De Wissen, get off and take some time to explore the nature reserve Negenoord-Kerkeweerd for a pleasant encounter with wild grazers in exceptional nature.
