We follow a big stretch along the banks of the Hermeton, a clean, rapidly flowing, and fish-rich river. The river is very sensitive to heavy rainfall; a single thunderstorm day is enough to reach the maximum water level at the mouth. We deviate briefly from the route to reach the spring at the Chapelle de Bonne Fontaine. Here, the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a knight, who built the chapel (17th century) in gratitude. The spring water is pure and can be drunk; tradition has it that drinking the water would help with conception. Park and start at the church of Romedenne for a walk over well-maintained field and woodland paths, which often cross a cow pasture. After 8.5 km, one should be cautious in case of thunder or storm, as the path may be harder to see due to fallen trees. Address of the church Romedenne: Rue du Monument 5, 5600 Philippeville.
