WNW I R - Westvleteren - R

With this beautiful racing bike route, I will take you in a northwest direction departing from Roeselare; of course, you can join in wherever you like.

We will depart via the straw route towards Ruiter, from here we head towards Oostnieuwkerke, but we will leave that to our right and set course towards Westrozebeke. From here, we head to Vijfwegen and ride along Houthulst Forest, after which we enter the hamlet of Luigem around Merkem. Here we cycle along the Yser canal past the Knokkebrug and from then on we cycle alongside the Yser, leaving the bank after about 4.6 km to travel across the territory of Lo-Reninge. From here we quickly come to Polinkhove followed by Elzendamme, ultimately arriving in Westvleteren. Now we cycle towards Vlamertinge, passing on the right side the Galgebossen and on the left side the historic inn/restaurant De Vuile Seule. We cycle around Elverdinge to Boezinge and from here towards Langemark and Sint-Juliaan. After that, we pass the memorable Tyne Cot Cemetery and cycle through the battlefield of Passendale from yesteryear, and via the Canadian Hill we cycle through Passendale from where we head back towards Roeselare.
