If you love woods and water, some elevation gain, and quiet roads, then this route will take you as a gravel rider or mountain biker along your dream course from Theux to the roof of Belgium and back.
We first ride to the Gileppe reservoir and further to the Wezer reservoir, then we cycle up with a long but gradual climb to the High Fens and almost to the Signal de Botrange, the highest point in Belgium.
We classify the route as a gravel or mountain bike route because there are many sections of gravel and less good asphalt roads that make the route almost unsuitable for road and recreational cyclists. Although the latter, with a sturdy full-suspension trekking bike, will still be able to enjoy it here.
But aside from the unpaved stretches, or for some thanks to these stretches, this is one of the most beautiful routes that you can cycle in Belgium.
