Eupen - city walk along the heritage of a rich cloth industry

With this city walk we visit the most important sights of the city.

Start at the station where there is free parking.

We first walk to Nispert and pass the Chapel of the Seven Sorrows of Mary and the Chapel of St. John the Beheading. We walk past the Heidberg Monastery to the city center.

On the Werthplatz we already see some houses of cloth merchants . Along the Gosperthstrasse, where the city museum is located, we arrive at the Church of Peace.

We make the effort to walk to the Bergkapel, where we are also reminded of the tradition of using horses to transport goods.

We walk through the Josephine-Koch-Park and Klinkeshöfchen to the remains of the Capuchin monastery. A little further on is the Monastery of the Franciscan Sisters at the market place , near the St. Nicholas Church where the high altar with an exceptionally well-developed iconography is an eye-catcher.

We return to the starting point past the old rectory .
