“Des Heeren Graven Bosschen” offers a hiking experience in the Pure Kempen, rich in socio-cultural and historical stories. Along a centuries-old path, one reaches 't Vonderke, a narrow bridge over the Mark, the river that gave Merksplas its name. Retention basins ensure that the Mark becomes a heavily swollen watercourse during persistent rain. The park area 't Zwart Goor, once a luxurious estate, is now a service center of the vzw Emmaüs, which provides support to about 300 people with intellectual disabilities. The nature point vzw manages the nature reserve 't Zwart Goor. This area, along with the Graafsbos, forms a wonderful hiking region.
