We made this nature walk on December 18, 2024

It starts at the Wamp and leads through the nature reserve Het Goorken and the Rote Del.

The name Goorken is derived from 'goor', which means swamp. Together with the Rote Del and the Reusels Moer, it formed a large, cross-border peat area in the Middle Ages. The construction of the Dessel-Schoten canal separated the Goorken from the other areas. In this marshy area, you can see low moor, heath, reed areas, open water, as well as willow and bog myrtle bushes. An ideal place for hikers to enjoy the tranquility and observe birds.
