Lubbeek. Panoramas, a vanished sea, and a centuries-old pilgrimage site.

This walk discovers some beautiful landscapes and sights east of the village center of Lubbeek. We move through the valley of the Molenbeek along the motte, once the cradle of the village, and ascend to the highest point on the Calvary hill. We visit one of the oldest Marian orders in Brabant, linger at an ice cellar, and admire the beautiful neoclassical castle nearby. We continue on to the Brabant Plateau and enjoy the view. Finally, we return along the village core.

You can start at both the parking lot of the town hall and in the marketplace (at the church).

There is dining available in the village center.

Hiking shoes are recommended.

If you take the walk in wet weather, go right at the Molendries and do not take left to Wauwerdries. The Molendries leads to Binkomstraat, and there you turn left onto Grotendries. After 500 meters, you will rejoin the walk to head right to the Calvary hill.
