Description by the author

Very rural walk with beautiful views.

Start at the Buysemolen. A wooden post mill rebuilt in 2008, on a mill site where a corn windmill had stood for centuries.

We descend along the Kamstraat and in the valley (to the left) lies Hof 't Oppelbeke. This estate is over 650 years old. We walk to a mill house with a sundial. This is the mill house of the Hollebekemolen, which no longer exists. Only a few millstones across from the mill house at the new farm still remind us of this mill.

From there we walk down Hellestraat. A real calf-killer if you have to do that uphill.

As we walk over the Holbeek, we arrive at Neerwegstraat and a little further on, there is a small path to the left where a large replica bike leans against the wall.

At the end of this path, we turn left into Bosstraat, but you will quickly leave it to take an unpaved road just at the bend: The Oude Bosstraat. Beautiful views in the valleys await you.

We walk to Mutsaardstraat and get acquainted with De Oude Plaats, after which we turn right until we reach Hof te Roeselare, a former abbey farm of the abbey of Ninove. The monumental gatehouse with dove tower, which you can see from the gate, was built after a renovation in 1980.

We retrace a few meters and turn right into a field path, then turn left. You pass a dilapidated chapel.

This path brings us back to Mutsaardstraat, which we walk right up. Just past a curve in the road and where the development ends, there is a path along the left side of the road.

Attention! This path can be very muddy, so suitable footwear is really necessary. But if you push through, you will arrive at a very beautiful boardwalk, which even runs alongside a few pollarded willows that have been able to remain standing. You are walking on a work of art by the Japanese Mashasi Echigo, about half a meter above the ground. A true experience!

At the end of the path, you walk left onto an earthen path uphill to a farm. There, you take the road back left towards Buysemolen.

Along the way, you pass by a few centuries-old trees.
