The trail is very well marked with a blue flag featuring a white wave in it, and the paths, especially in the Luxembourg part, are well maintained.
In my opinion, the trail and the path are not suitable for a beginner hiker. Also, your equipment, and especially your shoes, must be adapted to the terrain and weather conditions. Along the Ourthe, the paths can vary from accessible to completely inaccessible depending on the weather and water levels. There is a detour provided via Nadrin for times when it is thought that the route will be too difficult.
During our hike of the entire trail, we were unable to make use of the available campsites as they were still closed in early March. So we had to camp out (forced).
