In the Maten you will find a piece of authentic wetland landscape with beautiful ponds, interconnected by heads and tails. It is the area par excellence for bird enthusiasts, as the wetlands are breeding grounds for numerous water and songbirds. On this route, you will discover the unique transition from dry heath to the wetlands. This is a short introduction route to De Maten starting from the Slagmolen, the visitor center with a cozy outdoor bar from Natuurpunt.
