In the midst of the forests, you can also spot a beautiful heath relic with juniper bushes. You can't miss the Lightning Stairs! This 35m high staircase in the shape of a lightning bolt offers you a magnificent view of Kattevennen, the Hoge Kempen National Park, and much further after 164 steps. The walk also takes you to the Cave of Our Lady of Lourdes in Wiemesmeer. The hikes from Kattevennen provide the ideal connection between the center of Genk and the National Park.
